Elena (age 32) and Lubo (age 37) are a young family, running their own successful consulting business in Sydney and raising their daughters – a 9 months baby and 2 years old. Having put off making time for their health for years, always prioritizing the needs of their kids and clients, the family finally decided to invest in themselves.
Elena and Lubo train with us twice a week for 60 minutes and only for a month they have notable progress. And that’s despite them moving house and lacking time and planning to fully adapt to the nutrition portion of the training.
At the beginning, we measured the family’s body fat and lean body mass with a caliper and calculated their optimal weight according to our formula, taking into account their height and bone structure. Based on these measurements, we recommended their daily calories and gave them sample menus based on their lifestyle and tastes to help them cope with the quantities and food combinations. These body fat measurements and calories guidance, included in our Functional Assessment, are part of the monthly training membership and are our scientific method to monitor the clients’ progress.
Here are the Lubo and Elena’s results after the first month:
Lubo lost 1 kg of fat and gained 1 kg of lean body mass and Elena lost 1 kg of fat and gained 0.5 kg of lean body mass. Without stressful major changes, they are steadily working in the right direction of losing fat and increasing lean body mass or “active” weight – muscles, organs, bones. Being a software engineer and a financial adviser, they are motivated by the detailed monthly progress reports they receive.
In terms of training, Lubo is now able to do 3 unassisted pull-ups, lunges with 45 kg compared to 12kg a month ago, and side press with 24kg. That’s his working weights for sets of 5 reps. He has visibly lost some of his belly fat and has improved his posture, walk and mobility. His colleagues, clients and tennis buddies see the change and this reflects on his confidence and motivation. And his wife is there to watch him in action twice a week, which energizes their relationship.
Elena has also made significant progress. She now does lunges with 32 kg compared to 12kg a month ago, side press with 10kg, and the advanced version of renegade row with lifted leg with 12kg added weight – all this with no prior training and only 9 months after giving birth. Her ab muscles are significantly stronger and she learned how to squat and bend correctly, which helps her a lot with the young kids at home. No more back pain.
Lubo and Elena are thankful for the opportunity for this flexible training in the park by their house, at hours convenient for them, just after they put their kids to sleep.
The family also enjoys the discussions and advice we provide after training. Elena learned new methods to work on her nearsightedness and I connected Lubo with a real estate expert in the U.S., where the family wants to invest. They enjoy working with us, receiving strict result-oriented training, conducted with a smile and an example of a healthy family.
